Jannus Economic Opportunity (EO) offers free business and financial literacy classes in Boise and Twin Falls. Find a schedule of events here. EO also works with 30 child care providers in Ada and Canyon counties that offer affordable, culturally appropriate child care services. Some offer transportation and alternative shifts. Contact Jenny Hay for a list of providers a jhay@jannus.org.
Sponsor Circles and Welcome Connect are new programs that connect U.S. sponsors with Afghan and Ukrainian refugees, providing another pathway to resettlement. Clink on each link to learn more about becoming a sponsor!
Update on Ukraine: Ukrainians entering the U.S. through humanitarian parole are eligible for refugee program benefits. Anyone needing to be connected to services can contact the Ukrainian Welcome Center for assistance.
The Afghan Cultural Center of Idaho is now open in Boise and offering classes and events. The center is a program of the Idaho Office for Refugees.
Immigration Assistance for Afghan Refugees: Resettlement agencies are working with immigration attorneys to provide expert guidance to arrivals in the Afghan Placement & Assistance Program who are applying for permanent legal status. If you are an APA client, please find guidance here in English, Dari ( دری) and Pashto (پښتو).
Information on the Afghan Adjustment Act, which, if passed by Congress, would provide Afghan arrivals with a pathway to permanent residence.

UNITING FOR UKRAINE BENEFITS: Most displaced Ukrainian nationals arriving in the United States are eligible for health insurance. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services released a fact sheet on July 14 to provide states and stakeholders information on eligibility and health coverage options:
