Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Group is a proud partner in the Neighbors United initiative and supports Boise’s refugee community in multiple ways. Its innovative CARE Maternal Health Clinic offers specialized healthcare services to address the unique concerns and traumatic histories of expectant refugee mothers and their families. The CARE Clinic assists refugee mothers from all around the world regardless of English language skills and works to make them feel safe and confident. Many refugees are also seen at St. Alphonsus’ Federal Way Clinic, which offers experienced, culturally sensitive care for refugee arrivals. Refugees who can¹t make it to either of those clinics can schedule appointments with Curbside Care, a mobile healthcare unit that brings doctors to doorsteps.
Outside the clinic, Saint Alphonsus supports refugees by partnering with various area agencies for trainings on trauma, mental health, medical interpreting and other important topics. Additionally, its foundation sponsors cultural and integration events such as World Refugee Day and the Idaho Conference on Refugees.
